After the elections held on February 8, the first meeting of the Assembly of Pakistan’s largest province Punjab is being held today in Lahore, in which the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly will administer oath to the newly elected members.
In a press release issued by the Assembly Secretariat on Thursday, it was stated that the election of the new Speaker and Deputy Speaker will be carried out after the swearing in of the members.
The Pakistan Muslim League-N has emerged as the majority party in Punjab, including several members who were elected as independents and then announced to join the PML-N.
