In Saudi Arabia and most Arab countries, Ramadan began on March 11. If the moon is not sighted on Monday, Tuesday will be Ramadan 30, and Eid al-Fitr will be on Wednesday.
Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the 10th month of the Islamic calendar. The day provides an opportunity for families to come together and celebrate.
Each region of the kingdom has its own traditions for celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr, but what they all have in common is prayer, charity, hospitality, good food, fine clothes, decorations, and spending time with relatives.
