The big event of the Cricket World Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan in February 2025, which will be hosted by Pakistan.
The ICC delegation is currently in Pakistan to inspect the country’s stadiums and hotels before the global event. In the first phase, the review team has reviewed Karachi’s National Stadium and prominent hotels in the city.
A two-member ICC delegation consisting of Senior Manager and Event Operations Sara Edgar and Manager Aoun visited Karachi National Stadium on Monday.
Salman Naseer, Chief Operating Officer of the Pakistan Cricket Board, gave a detailed briefing to the team coming for review regarding the organization of cricket matches in Karachi. The inspection team from PCB will be provided with the National Stadium grounds, players’ seating area, dressing room, officials’ room for those who take care of administrative affairs, media box, chairman’s box, and seating area for journalists coming to cover the match. A detailed tour of the gallery was done, and the review team noted down their points while looking at the situation.
It should be noted that a three-member delegation from the ICC has to submit a report to the International Council after reviewing the condition of the cricket grounds before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Two members of the team have inspected the ground in Karachi, while the third member of the delegation, Chris Tetley, has not arrived in Karachi.
The ICC review team will reach Lahore after completing its tour from Karachi, where the arrangements at the Gaddafi Stadium will be reviewed.
Earlier, Chairman Mohsin Naqvi of the Mohsin Naqvi of the Pakistan Cricket Board visited many stadiums in the country and initiated measures to improve the grounds.
On the occasion of Pakistan Super League Season 9, Chairman PCB visited the grounds after taking a detailed briefing on the situation of many fields in the country, including Karachi, and instructions were issued to the authorities to take steps to improve the condition of the stadiums. do
